Business Development Manager

The Role

Reporting to:

• Managing Director
• CEO

Responsibilities and Duties

The Business Development Manager (BDM):

• Develops and manages strategic relationships with Group Stakeholders i.e. new and existing insurance intermediaries, affinity groups and relevant entities and institutions across Spain and Portugal (hereon: Iberia)
• Oversees and executes the business plan agreed with the MD and the CEO
• Travels extensively to meet and visit the Group Stakeholders, to attend events and trade fairs
• Acts as liaison officer and facilitator between the Group Stakeholders and work colleagues, promoting a timely and professional level of service

• 7+ years’ experience and understanding of liability insurance / products / markets (Professional Indemnity, Healthcare Insurance, D&O etc.)
• BSc in law or economics
• Knowledge of the: practices and processes of the Lloyd’s and Company market, legal principles governing insurances, DGSFP’s regulatory framework governing insurance brokers
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint)

• Ambition, initiative, high level of energy, analytical skills, resilience
• Strong presentation and negotiations skills
• Commitment to ensuring high level of service
• Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively

Education:

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

• liability Insurance: 7 years (Required)
• Lloyd's and Company market: 5 years (Required)
• Microsoft Office: 3 years (Required)

• Spanish (Required)
• English (Required)
