Job Description
IDIADA offers you the opportunity to develop a internship project within the powertrain virtual development team located in our HQ offices in Spain.The student will contribute to different modelling activities in the areas of vehicle energy consumption and range simulation, component sizing for powertrain electrification, and system-level simulations. In parallel to simulation activities, vehicle test data analysis, visualization and scripting/automation of tasks are also part of the scope of work of the internship.
Main activities will focus on:
- Development of system-level 1D/0D models for energy consumption and range simulations, with focus on electric vehicle configurations for public transport solutions.
- Model integration in a web-based application environment. Implement model upgrades, ensure model enrichment and seek model accuracy improvements.
- Development of scripts and tools in MATLAB and Python (automation of data pre/post processing, simulation, and reporting tasks).
- To prepare technical reports or visual presentations to summarize results, contribute to project review meetings in collaboration with other members of the team.

We are looking for a profile with strong technical, analytical, and fast-learning capabilities; with the ability to defend technical points in meetings, forecast the impact of decisions and the ability to work in a methodological way. - Advanced level in MATLAB/Simulink.
- Knowledge of Python for data analysis, automation and optimization is desirable.
- Good understanding of powertrain systems, its elements, and component interactions, for electrified vehicle applications.
- Open, highly motivated personality with hands-on mentality, able to work autonomously as well as being part of a team in a hybrid style (office and remote).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with intellectual curiosity and the drive to investigate technical facts in-depth.
- Currently pursuing bachelor degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electric or Aeronautical Engineering.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
